The One Belt One Road is a major development initiative proposed by President Xi Jinping and actively promoted by the Chinese government.
One Belt one Road could be a misleading or confusing term to many people outside of China. English and other foreign language translations may not bring out the full scale and scope of the OBOR initiative itself. How to look at the OBOR Initiative? What are the four corners of this Initiative? What does the OBOR Initiative have to do with me (assuming “me” is someone in Europe, or in Central Asia, or in MENA (or WANA), or in South Asia, or in ASEAN, or in East Asia)? What should I do about OBOR? What should my company or institution do about OBOR? What should my country do about OBOR? What are the consequences of not doing anything about OBOR? Victor Gao will try to shed light on these questions and assist us to view OBOR in a clearer light.
Victor Zhikai Gao is Chairman of China Energy Security Institute and Vice Chairman of Sino-Europe United Investment Corporation. He is also current affairs commentator with CCTV, CRI, CNN, BBC, Al Jazeera, NHK, Channel News Asia, RT, etc. Mr. Gao is well known for his position as Deng Xiaoping’s English language interpreter in the1980s.
This event is open to foreign passport holders only and is off-the-record. Advanced registration is not required.
