The Center currently offers two teacher education programs, namely the TCSOL one-year certificate program in New York City and the TCSOL/TESOL summer dual certificate program in Beijing. Professor of East Asian Languages and Cultures and Director of the Chinese Language Program at Columbia University

Dr. Lening Liu is Professor of East Asian Languages and Cultures and Director of the Chinese Language Program at Columbia University. In addition, he is the Director of the Confucius Institute and serves as co-director of the TCSOL Program with Dr. ZhaoHong Han. Dr. Liu’s research interests are in the areas of historical syntax, discourse grammar and Chinese language pedagogy. He has published a number of articles on the evolution of Chinese conjunctive adverbs, the rhetorical structures of Chinese, the history and innovation of Chinese pedagogy, etc. MORE
