The Beijing American Center (BAC), part of the U.S. Embassy’s Public Affairs Office, is a public outreach space that seeks to explain American society and culture to Chinese audiences.  As part of our cultural outreach, we hold events to bring Americans and Chinese together.  For the 2015-2016 semester, we will be hosting a series of student coffee hours.

This coffee hour is an opportunity for you to meet Chinese college students who want to practice their English and discuss life in both China and America.  It’s a friendly, fun time that has allowed many students to make good friends.  If you can’t make this event, we hope that you will be able to join a future Coffee Hour—we usually host them about two times per month.  Our center has free WiFi, a media lab, and a library.

If you’re interested, please send your RSVP to BeijingBAC@state.gov with your name and preferred date(s) so we know you plan to participate.  If you are volunteering for the first time, please also include your U.S. school affiliation, your Chinese school affiliation, your major, and the length of your stay in Beijing.  Please bring a photo ID in order to enter the American Center.  Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the aforementioned email or the BAC direct line at 6597-3242.
