The Spencer’s forthcoming exhibition Temporal Turn: Art and Speculation in Contemporary Asia will explore how artists across Asia—from Turkey to Tokyo—are contemplating the future. Although many of the approaches featured in Temporal Turn may be characterized as “science fiction,” the exhibition will feature a wide range of speculative approaches to the future, from scientific to historical. In addition to works from the Museum’s collection and pivotal international loans, we plan to invite three artists to create site-specific commissions.
