Work location: Beijing, China

Commitment: one-year contract

Background:

A Bridge for Children International (ABC) is a US non-profit organization, with the vision that “Every Child Deserves a Family. Every Child Deserves an Education.” ABC serves underprivileged children, focusing on orphans and migrant children, in three programmatic areas: CONNECT (CSR and Volunteerism), DREAM, (Education and Life Skills) and TALENT (Migrant Children sports, arts and teacher training).

The ideal candidate has experience working with underprivileged youth and development programs. The Program officer will be in the unique position to directly impact the lives of underprivileged youths as well as volunteers for positive change.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Assist Program manager and team in the timely implementation of program tasks and document management

• Establish and maintain programmatic relationships

• Liaise and follow-up with school principals, teachers, parents, volunteers, partner organization and sponsors on behalf of ABC

• Support volunteer recruitment, volunteer training, and curriculum development and delivery process

• Assist program staff with logistical and administrative tasks to ensure smooth implementation of programs

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with a major in art or music and experience with basketball is preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a proactive attitude
  • 2-3 years work experience in management/implementation of child development programs, experience in migrant children development program implementation and management
  • Proactive in expressing ideas
  • Demonstrate leadership skills and people management
  • Team player and quick learner who focuses on high productivity and results
  • Detail-oriented, ability to multi-task and manage time effectively
  • Adaptable to changing priorities
  • Willingness and ability to travel
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Native Chinese and proficient in English

Salary: Commensurate with experience. Position includes a competitive benefits package.
