Academic Director Position Introduction

Both Shunshun’s core business and its high end consulting arm – 尊享 – are expanding very fast. Within our small for 尊享team of all Top 30 US universities graduates with diverse globalized experience, you will work side by side with other Directors, Elite Mentor, Peer Mentor (current university/graduate program students), and Career Mentor, you will have plenty of opportunities to learn from them and shine with them. Also, with vast room for professional development and the wide range of responsibilities up for grabbing in a start-up environment, you will probably need another CV page for this whole experience.

The Academics Director (AD) plays a vital role in mentoring other Elite Mentor and assuring quality of academic materials (internal training, student essays, etc.). Towards this end, AD actively contributes to internal resource development and conduct face to face or online training. In addition, AD also assists students from early years to achieve their educational goals and eventually collaborate with student on the college application to help students gain acceptance to their best fit schools. The two lines of duty take roughly equal amount of time and efforts.

The ideal AD desires passionately to make a difference in the life of both student and other mentors and manage effectively all communications via phone, email, WeChat, and Skype. Adherence to company policies and procedures is required given the responsibility and independence awarded to each SC in the management of his/her cases.

 

Responsibilities.

  • Work with consulting team to handle student cases
  • Develop independent projects / resources
  • Mentor other mentor staffs and ensure their work quality
  • Responsible for foreign mentor recruitment and management
  • Provide systematic training for foreign mentors in terms of how to deliver consulting service for students.
  • Work with the team to develop marketing channel and marketing strategy.
  • Work with the team to work on improve customer satisfaction 
  • Conduct internal and external seminars
  • Devise strategy, track students’ progress, and develop students’ activities and service involvement
  • Hold meetings with students-parents and sending meeting notes
  • Counsel student on written portion of college applications

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of a top 20 US University/College
  • At least 2 years of full-time experience as educational consultant + 1 year in a senior position or management duty position
  • Planning and organizational skills
  • Excellent English writing and editing skills
  • Ability to work independently under pressure
  • Excellent verbal communication and listening skills
  • Ability to communicate with parents and students 
  • Preference for applicants with :
    • training and public speaking skills
    • experience in education, writing, editing, and admission counseling;
    • knowledge of U.S. higher education system/standardized testing
    • knowledge of Chinese public and/or private school system

Compensation:

  • Monthly Base: Competitive depending on experience
  • Student Commission: Percentage of package value (details discussed in interview)
  • Project Bonus: Percentage of the project that consultant is designing and leading.  
  • Quarterly Bonus: Percentage of quarterly team revenue 
  • Annual Bonus: Percentage of annual revenue    
  • Annual Income: 450,000-600,000RMB depending on the projects and student cases.
