The Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, a unique global network of policy research centers in Russia, China, Europe, the Middle East, India, and the United States, is seeking an Accounting Assistant to join its Finance staff.
Responsibilities will include handling accounts payable, cash receipts, annual Form 1099s and other filings, assisting with the annual audit preparation, preparing journal entries, reconciling corporate credit card statements, performing various other accounting duties, and providing administrative support.
This entry level position offers an excellent opportunity for a candidate with an undergraduate degree in accounting, finance or a similar business related field. Position requires up to one year of accounting experience, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a proficiency with Microsoft Excel, and the ability to learn quickly in a fast paced environment. The ideal candidate should also be detail-oriented, organized, and work well independently and as part of a team.
