Born in Australia, now based in China with funding from Chinese venture capital, Tripalocal connects Chinese outbound travellers with theme experiences. We are now looking to hire business development staff for our education tourism arm. You will work with an ambitious team of Chinese and foreigners, most of whom graduated from world top universities. 

Role description

– Meeting with leaders of universities and senior high schools throughout China and promoting education tourism experiences in mainly English speaking countries. (Education tourism products include short term study tours, short term delegation visits, campus tours etc)

– Presenting to staff and students on the products.

– Working closely with locally based staff throughout target 2/3/4 tier cities and provinces in identifying new partnership opportunities.

– Managing follow ups and closing.

– Beijing or Shanghai based but ~90% of the time will be travelling throughout key provincial markets.

Requirements:

– Fluent in English and very articulate
– Good understanding of at least one of Australia, New Zealand, US or UK tertiary education systems
– Previous experience in either international education or tourism strongly preferred
– Travel addict (note, this role requires a lot of travelling throughout 2nd/3rd/4th tier Chinese cities) 
– Good level of Mandarin Chinese is a bonus

Total salary package will be base plus commission. This role is ideal for those with some industry experience and keen on learning about the vastly untapped markets of Tier 2/3/4 China.
