The American Chamber of Commerce in the People’s Republic of China is a non-profit, non-governmental organization whose membership comprises more than 3,300 individuals from 900 companies operating across China. The chamber’s nationwide mission is to help American companies succeed in China through advocacy, information, networking and business support services. AmCham China is the only officially recognized chamber of commerce representing American business in mainland China.

Job Description

Duties and responsibilities:

• Handle all U.S. Visa drop off / pick up cases to the AmCham China office 
• Meet and greet applicants who submit their U.S. Visa application through AmCham China Business Service Center
• Process individual applications and answer the questions 
• Answer phone inquiries about the AmCham China Business Visa Program 
• Schedule an interview for the applicants and coordinate with the U.S. Embassy Service Center if special cases happen
• Send an email to each applicants to give them an update as to the visa interview status
• Send an email to notify the applicants that their issued passport/or additional documents have being returned to AmCham from the U.S. Embassy
• Update database / websites with all changes and new Visa submittals
• Complete, track, and file the visa transmittal sheets
• Collect company applications for Business Visa Service and follow up with the member companies for additional documents or information 
• Responsible for the logistic issues of AmCham China Training Program such as training registration, update participant list, reserve lunch for the trainees and purchase stationaries
• Other training tasks that Membership Services Manager assign

Requirements:

Qualifications:

Education: University / College Degree
Additional language (English & Chinese) skills mandatory. 

• Demonstrates a sense of urgency when working with both internal and external customers; available and responsive to customers’ needs and continuously seeks opportunities to satisfy customers’ expectations.
• Proficiency in desktop computer applications (i.e. word-processing, spreadsheets, database management). 
• Actively participates in and contributes to work teams 
• Manages effective flow of information; 
• A minimum of 1-2 years customer support related experience mandatory
