The China Bridge Associate is an exciting opportunity at a leading technology hub in the heart of San Francisco. This candidate will support the strategic development effort, to establish US-China innovation collaborations. The role will focus on facilitating business development dialogue with established corporations and startups in both US and China, providing analytics on China’s innovation trends and policy updates, and managing corporate advisory services. The China Bridge Associate will be based in San Francisco and requires traveling to China.

Runway is committed to fostering a strong community, supporting startup teams by connecting them to experts and mentors, and helping Corporate Partners drive growth by engaging with emerging startups.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Business Development Support
– Assist business development lead in pitch material development for both US and China potential partners and clients;
– Facilitate program development effort to expand range of Runway’s services and offerings;
– Research and provide intelligence on innovation and market trends in China and policy updates, across different markets/industries of interests;
– Assist with due diligence and documentation activities;
Startup Recruitment and Support
– Assist and coordinate recruitment of startups to join China Bridge program;
– Facilitate startup’s on-boarding activities to ensure successful onboarding;
– Point of contact for startup relationship management, to identify and provide follow up assistance to startup community as appropriate;
Other Responsibilities:
– Lead collaboration with Runway team in event planning and execution support with regards to BD events and activities;
Candidate Profile and Requirements:
● Ideal candidate demonstrates critical thinking, acumen and drive to help to expand Runway’s strategic development in China
● Business fluency in both English and Chinese (Mandarin)
● Minimum 3-5 years professional experience, preferably in BOTH United States and China, or with substantial experience serving clients from both countries, in the following or related capacities: consulting, professional services account management
● Innovation / tech exposure preferred
● Flexible in navigating through ambiguity. Demonstrates professional curiosity and an agile learner
● Motivated to venture out of comfort zone to help Runway team to achieve mission objectives
● Candidate must have valid work authorization in US. Runway will not provide visa sponsorship.
