The person in this position will serve as the primary writer for communications messages. This position is a part of a collaborative team including Admissions, Alumni, Advancement, Communications, Community Relations, and Marketing.

Job Description
GENERAL REPONSIBILITIES
Working closely with Communications and Community Relations, this position plans, implements, and manages the development and execution of communications projects and initiatives and the production of publications and school-wide messages. The major undertakings and tasks include:
- Collaborate:
- creating, editing, and publishing the ISB Bulletin, including the commission of news stories written by students and staff
- creating, editing, and publishing communications pieces, such as the annual report, course catalog, college guide, School Profile, and student/parent handbooks as well messages from the school to the community, such as the ISB Weekly, parent letters from leadership, and Board communications
- in the development and execution of an integrated communications plan
- in the development and maintenance of relationships with key partners internally and externally related to communications
- on the design, editing, production, and publishing of communications materials for internal and external consumption in relation to sharing and showcasing school-wide events and activities
- on the development of communications strategies to support and showcase the implementation of Strategic Plan IV
- in the promoting of programs and collaboration in communications for planning and activities
- in strengthening the school identity and messaging strategies in collaboration with marketing strategies
- with the school photographer in creating communications and publishing materials through organizing and creating articles and photo essays for local and international publications, the ISB website, and other media in collaboration with marketing
- with the school photographer to conceive, create, or commission photographic images for use in ISB publications and communications
- on the development and maintenance of the school web site as a communications tool
- on the management of school communications for message consistency, content, and timelines

Skills & Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree with three to five years of work experience in publishing and communications
- Detail-oriented, highly organized, ability to prioritize multiple tasks and projects and work to deadline
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills and experiences
- Fluency in English, with excellent writing, editing, and proofreading abilities
- Demonstrated initiative, project management aptitude, and problem-solving skills
- Proficient knowledge of software and web platforms for publications and to support communications
- Experience in communications in an educational environment and/or not-for-profit setting is highly desirable
