Job Description
TSL Education is based in the north-east of Beijing next to Maquanying subway station. Aside from our small school, we are also involved in a government project working with twenty public schools, a number of publishing projects, an organic farm, a literary journal for teenagers, an outdoor education centre located in close proximity to the Great Wall, alongside various other projects. Most importantly, we have an incredible team who are passionate about finding innovative solutions to improving global education.
The Community Liaison Coordinator (CLC) will work with the HR Director, Director of Studies and TSL management to help settle all new team members while making sure all existing staff are positive and motivated. They also oversee school engagement and work closely with our content manager.
This is a challenging yet fun role that requires an extremely positive personality, confidence to drive things forward and impeccable organisation and attention to detail.
Period: One Year Contract
Community Liaison Coordinator Responsibilities
Community Liaison
1. Maintain staff happiness
2. Write the newsletter every Friday
3. Organise and promote staff socials (some recent examples include: a recent weekend trip up to the organisation’s Mountain House and the Great Wall; an organised staff, students and family meal at a lovely fancy restaurant to train etiquette; an all TSL team pool tournament and trips to KTV, just to name a few!)
4. Meet and greet all new staff at the airport
5. Manage interns
6. Complete inductions for foreign staff, help them get to know everyone in the organisation
7. Help new staff settle into Beijing
8. Take and distribute minutes, where required
9. Receive and act on any feedback from interns or staff
10. Overseeing the School Calendar for events
11. Keeping on top of staff birthdays
12. Making sure PEEPPS (Personal Development Programme) are being kept to, updated and maintained
13. Proofreading, copyediting and writing documents, emails etc.
14. Working closely with the designer
15. Overseeing and filing Internals & Blasts
School Engagement
1. Maintain noticeboards in the school
2. Share positive developments in the school
3. Develop a strong sense of community within the school
4. Attending and developing local networks on behalf of TSL
Human Resources
1. Screen incoming CVs/resumes
2. Be initial contact and basic communicator for foreign candidates (via email & skype)
3. Arrange interviews with DOS/Co-founders
4. Organise the timetables for Training Weeks
5. Attend Scheduling and Management meetings
6. Complete exit interviews with foreign staff and update job descriptions accordingl
Position Requirements
Essential Requirements
1. Native English speaker
2. University degree
3. Two years of post-degree work experience
4. Work experience in schools or university (preferred)
5. Working Mandarin speaking ability (preferred)
