Founded in 2001, True Run Media is Beijing’s top provider of information about living, working and having fun in the internationally-minded community centered in China’s capital city. True Run currently publishes three magazines in print and online – the Beijinger, beijingkids and JingKids.

In addition, with the launch of JingKids Shanghai in late 2014, it is also now the top provider of the most comprehensive information on international education, international lifestyles and the local community to Shanghai families.

Be the next digital ninja for our sister brand beijingkids and get to curate their online presence. Beijingkids now has an opening for a Digital Media Editor.

The Digital Media Editor develops and maintains all aspects of the beijingkids website and social media to continue to grow the brand’s presence online. The Digital Media Editor works closely with the Managing & Deputy Managing Editors to ensure the brand’s strategic decisions.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
– Manage all social media channels including production, upload and publishing of content
– Maintain blog schedules and ensure timely collection of content
– Upload magazine articles into the site
– Lead the writing of events blog posts
– Harvest events from external sources to feed to social media and website
– Monitor social media and other official online accounts
– Reply to community online feedback and queries
– Assist with editing articles when necessary
– Develop original content for beijingkids
– Liaise with IT on editorial specifications and issues with the website (if any)
– Reach out to the community and other sources to help recruit models, features, etc. as needed
– Maintain consistent presence on relevant online community groups
– Represent beijingkids and True Run Media on social functions as directed by the Managing Editor

Position Requirements
– Bachelor’s degree (major in journalism, marketing or communications preferred)
– Native or fluent English communication skills (reading, writing, speaking)
– Chinese communication skills a big plus
– Previous experience with writing, editing, marketing, social media management a big plus
– Previous social media management experience also a big plus
– Ability to manage work away from office and still meet deadlines
– Parents will be given priority for this position.
