The Director of Marketing, China will develop and implement an integrated marketing strategy and program that supports the Smith School brand and promotes the Smith School’s Executive MBA – China and Masters of Science programs, in order to meet program enrollment goals. The director is responsible for strategy, project and production management, and will collaborate with Smith Office of Marketing Communications, Smith recruiting team members, and non-Smith vendors to execute marketing campaigns. This position is based in Beijing at the Smith China Representative Office.

Job Description
The director will develop and execute strong inbound and outbound marketing strategies for the Smith School China EMBA program, Masters of Science programs and Executive Development Programs, including but not limited to:
• Email marketing
• Social media, audio and video
• Website copy/SEO
• Digital advertising
• Social posts
• Press releases
• Print collateral
• Localizing Smith assets for Chinese audiences
The director will manage all aspects of campaigns, from inception to launch, working closely with Smith MarComm, Office of Executive Programs and recruiting teams. He or she will regularly analyze campaign results, report to Smith teams and use insights gained to improve quantity and quality of leads and cost per lead, assessing success in contributing to enrollment goals.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising, business, communications or related field.
Experience: 5+ years of professional experience showing proven results in digital and traditional marketing, advertising or promotion in an academic, corporate or agency environment. 3+ years of experience in the China market required. Background in higher education preferred, but not required.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Applicants must have:
• Proven understanding of lead generation and customer acquisition in the Beijing market demonstrated by a portfolio of previous successful projects.
• Excellent research and analytical skills; understanding of ROI measures for marketing
• Fluent in English, with excellent English writing and communication skills
• Experience in producing content for multiple platforms, demonstrated by a diverse content marketing portfolio.
• Superior project management skills; ability to manage multiple projects at once and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work cross-functionally to manage all aspects of a campaign from inception to launch.
• Team player, outstanding interpersonal communication skills and self-starter. Able to communicate effectively with all constituents within a highly diverse university environment.
• Working knowledge of SEO/PPC in China.
• Experience with higher education or the luxury goods markets a plus.
• General familiarity with mobile development a plus.
