PlaNet Finance China is seeking a Director of Operations. S/he will lead organization’s financial, administrative, human resources, and IT functions to ensure operational effectiveness and will oversee the ongoing development and implementation of the organization’s operational policies, processes, and systems. S/he will report to PlaNet Finance China’s managing director. This job is based out of Beijing with occasional travel to project locations.

Job Description
Tasks and Responsibilities:
Planning and new project development:
- Assist organization’s senior leadership in the development of strategic and annual business plans for their growth and development, as well as periodic updates;
- Establish and implement a strategy for sourcing the appropriate resources (people, financial, etc.) needed to achieve the goals outlined within the program’s plan;
- Support the managing director to research new project opportunities and develop relationships with potential government and project partners
Financial management:
- Oversee the work of the director of administration and finance and the finance function as a whole to ensure compliance with regulatory and funders requirements;
- Ensure efficient and effective management of the accounting and finance function, accuracy, and reliability of financial information, and the overall sound management of organization’s funding and expenditure.
Human resources:
- Support the director of administration and finance to develop, and implement a human resources strategy, that ensures organization is resourced to deliver its strategic objectives;
- Provide leadership and strategic thinking on HR policies and procedures to ensure they meet organization’s needs and that organization recruits and retains staff with the competencies and capabilities required to optimize performance and achieve its strategic objectives.
Administration:
- Provide leadership and strategic thinking on logistical and administrative functions to ensure theymeet organization’s needs and support organization in achieving its strategic objectives;Identify new administrative systems and processes if required as organization grows and develops.
Staff development
- Lead, coach, and mentor members of the team to make sure that high standards of delivery are consistent
Additional responsibilities:
- Take responsibility for own continuous professional development by proactively identifying and participating in formal/informal learning opportunities;
- Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Managing Director.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics or related field;
- More than 2 years of professional experience in consulting, microenterprise development, banking or financial services sector, or other related position;
- Professional working proficiency in spoken/written Mandarin;
- Full professional proficiency in spoken/written English;
- Strong organizational skills, including effective time management and prioritization of competing demands/multiple deadlines;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
- Ability to conduct business analysis and prepare recommendations for presentation to senior leadership;
- Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time.
