SAA offers timely news feeds, proprietary datasets, and original analysis from China’s county-‐level up to help world-‐class agritech suppliers and investors successfully navigate China’s massive USD 1.7 trillion modern agriculture market (market size by McKinsey, 2013). We closed our Seed fundraise and are transitioning out of the start-‐up phase; SAA has offices in Beijing and NYC and expects to open a third office in southern China followed by entry into another emerging market by end of 2014 – there are opportunities in international locations for committed employees. We utilize cutting-‐edge management systems, sales processes, information tools, and database platforms (including a proprietary one) to grease the wheels of a dynamic multi-cultural work environment where all team members engage and contribute to the company’s growth.

Job Description:
We are seeking a highly reliable and motivated editor to join our editorial team. The primary role of the assistant editor is to coordinate daily and weekly news production. Duties may include translation, proofreading and editing, news aggregation, basic research, maintenance of our blog, etc. SAA is a fast growing company, but the editorial team is still small – this is a great opportunity to jump in early and create a role for yourself.
Qualifications:
• Excellent writing skills and a strong command of English grammar
• Exceptional eye for detail
• Experience in Chinese-‐>English translation
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Apps,etc.
• Experience with social media platforms (Twitter,LinkedIn,Google+,etc.)
• Native-level English speaker with fluency or near fluency in Mandarin Chinese
• Knowledge of the agriculture industry is a plus
• Must work from our Beijing office
Ideal Candidates:
• Live in Beijing already, those with moving plans will still be considered
• Are grammar and spelling nerds
• Can commit to working with us for more than 6 months
• Are passionate about agriculture, technology, and writing
Schedule: At least half-time Mon-Fri. Full-time strongly preferred.
Compensation: Based on candidate qualifications and performance.
