Based in Reston, Virginia – Washington DC metropolitan area, Veritas Education, an organization with both for-profit and non-profit divisions, aims to enhance students’ learning and community involvement by providing theory-driven education curriculum and programs.
Our co-founder, a Harvard Graduate School of Education alumna, is an expert in student motivation and development and mentors students globally, including Harvard College students. She also serves as a keynote and panel speaker at various conferences to discuss leadership, mentoring, effective essay writing, global competence, international education, and race relations in America.
Job Summary
We are looking for a full-time Education Specialist/Contractor candidate to join our team in the Washington DC metropolitan area. We are looking for an individual passionate about education.
Responsibilities
- Education Related:
- Apply educational theories to motivate and help student improve performance in or outside of classroom
- Provide preliminary consultations based on students’ profile and academic needs
- Conduct research on education-related projects
- Gather information and share relevant information with parents and students about the US education system
- Be able to teach an online or in person as needed (TOEFL, SSAT, SAT, writing, etc.)
- Project Management:
- Project manage the high school and college application process of multiple students
- Professionally correspond and maintain a relationship with students and family members through various forms of communication (phone, email, WeChat, etc.)
- Work on fundraising and/or media related functions for our NGO initiatives
- Familiar with international student requirements and the student visa process Research school admission requirements
- Report student progress and ensure documents are submitted in a timely manner
- Support management team in completing related projects as needed
Qualifications
- Team-oriented, motivated, professional, and responsible
- Passionate about education and helping students grow
- Fluent in Chinese and English (read, write, speak, and listen)
- Current master’s student in Education or Linguistics preferred
- Teaching experience in TOEFL, SAT, SSAT, and writing preferred
Compensation
The pay is competitive. The position requires 40 hours of work per week.
