(1) FULL-TIME & ADJUNCT FACULTY, ART & TECHNOLOGY GRADUATE CONCENTRATION
NYIT is expanding China programs in Beijing through a ministry approved cooperative institute with the Communications University of China (CUC). Currently two searches underway (more to come):
NYIT seeks applicants for a full time and adjunct faculty positions for Art & Technology Graduate level concentration within the Department of Fine Arts, to start Fall 2015 at NYIT Beijing, China campus. NYIT is offering its Fine Arts degrees in cooperation with Communication University of China (CUC) at Beijing.
Ideal candidate will demonstrate strong theoretical, conceptual, and technical skills consistent for advanced pedagogy related to digital visual arts, contemporary issues of digital age, and emerging technologies consistent with various contemporary art world movements and practices. These technical skills should include practical experience with various technologies such as: computer assisted design, 3D visualization/animation, motion capture systems, virtual world gaming engines, CNC milling, 3D printing, 3D scanning, robotics, etc.
Responsibilities will include advising and teaching international students the historical, theoretical and practical knowledge of traditional hand/eye design skills as well as advanced digital technologies. Candidates will facilitate graduate students with conceptual, aesthetic and technical development as progress towards completion of self-directed individual digital art thesis projects with resulting documentary thesis paper and conceptually consistent oral defense.
Candidates will provide proven record of commitment to excellence in teaching; enthusiasm for development and innovation of academic programs; leadership skills; and capabilities to function as a team player along with diverse art practices. Prior experience teaching international students is essential. Candidates are expected to minimally possess MFA or equivalent degree in a related field, at least three years teaching experience at university level, and exhibition record with significant international recognition in field of Art & Technology.
