NYIT seeks applicants for full time and adjuncts faculty positions in graphic design under the Department of Fine Arts, to start in the Fall of 2015 at NYIT in Beijing, China. NYIT is offering its Fine Arts degrees in cooperation with Communication University of China (CUC) in Beijing.

The ideal candidate will have strong conceptual skills; demonstrate a strong knowledge of all design principles appropriate to specific formats (print or electronic); have a strong comprehension of print production; be up to date with industry leading software and technologies (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Dreamweaver etc.) and must have good communication skills.

The responsibilities of this position include teaching international students the theoretical and practical knowledge of communication design such as typography, branding, editorial design, packaging design, information graphics, web design, social media design, motion graphics and etc. Candidates will help facilitate the graduate students’ conceptual, aesthetic and technical progress as they develop their thesis and a portfolio that is acceptable to industry standards.

Candidates should have a proven commitment to excellence in teaching; enthusiasm for developing and innovating academic programs; leadership skills; and exhibit the qualities of a team player. Experience with teaching international students is a plus. The candidate should possess an MFA or an equivalent degree. Critical acclaim in the communication design profession will also be considered.
