INTRO TO PEKING UNIVERSITY HSBC BUSINESS SCHOOL:

Peking University HSBC Business School (PHBS) is located in Shenzhen, China
(adjacent to Hong Kong), as part of Peking University Shenzhen Graduate
School. PHBS is an internationally-focused, Chinese business school offering
3 master’s degrees and an MBA entirely in English. International students
currently make up approximately 20% of the student body within these
programs. Internationalization of the Peking University Shenzhen Graduate
School is an active focus, with PHBS leading the way.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Peking University HSBC Business School is currently looking for a
native-level English speaking staff member with proficient Chinese language
skills to be an integral part of the International Affairs Team.
International affairs is responsible for the recruitment and enrollment of
international students, management of incoming and outgoing exchange
students and partnerships, international alumni association support, and
international student affairs and visa support. The International Affairs
Team currently consists of 5 team members. The position currently available
is for the recruitment and enrollment of international students.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Manage full-time international student recruiting and online marketing efforts.

2. Track the effectiveness of marketing efforts by using Google Analytics to track website traffic.

3. Manage the English website information related to international student admissions, degree programs, and general school information.

4.  Work directly with applicants, via telephone and email correspondence, to provide necessary information about PHBS and its degree programs throughout the application, admission and enrollment process.

5. Manage and organize the applicant materials and list of applicants, following PKU and PHBS admission procedures.

6. Organize, support, and participate in the admission committee.

7. Collaborate with PKU Shenzhen to complete necessary enrollment procedures such as visa documentation, housing arrangement, fee payments, and enrollment procedures.

8. Help in coordinating the arrival and orientation for new international students.

9. Collate yearly admission data and create reports comparing each year’s data with historical data.

10. Bilingual support & English editing and proofreading as needed.

11. Other tasks related to the support of international affairs.

ADDITIONAL POSITION DETAILS:

-Work Location: Shenzhen, China

-Work Type: Full-time (Monday to Friday: 8:00-12:00 noon & 1:30-5:30pm),
some overtime is required

-Start Date: Position available to start immediately following successful
receipt of the work visa. The work permit application process typically
takes several months.

-Contract: 3 years with possibility to renew

-Work Visa/Residence Permit: Materials necessary for work visa application
are provided

-Salary: 10,000-15,000RMB per month, certain nationalities are tax-free for
a limited number of years

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

– Bachelor Degree

– Native-level English

– Proficiency in Mandarin Chinese, written and speaking

– Two years of related work experience

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

– Previous work and/or study experience in China.

– Excellent cross-cultural communication skills and an interest in working
in student services.

– Ability to manage several projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks,
while paying attention to detail.

– Demonstrated strong organizational and interpersonal skills, as well as
excellent written/verbal communication skills including public speaking and
business correspondence.

-Ability to proficiently use Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel,
PowerPoint, Outlook), and especially the ability to proficiently manage
spreadsheets and organize data using Microsoft Excel.

-Ability to exercise good judgment, and problem-solving skills, and maintain
the confidentiality of information gathered during the performance of
assigned tasks
