Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Teaching SAT classes and private sessions in accordance with the themes and objectives of the Butler Method curriculum
- Preparing lesson plans using company resources
- Delivering curriculum with energy and enthusiasm
- Monitor and evaluate students’ performance based on mock exams
- Keep up to date with developments in subject area, teaching resources and methods and work with the management team to constantly improve our methods
- Work closely and effectively as a team member with the Chinese and American staff members
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and high GPA from a top U.S. college or university
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Teaching or tutoring experience
- Motivating and inspirational teaching style
- Language ability and experience working/living in China is not required, but is recommended
Compensation and Schedule
- Location: Beijing
- Monthly Salary: RMB 12,000/month
- Accommodation: Optional RMB 3,000/month housing fee or free apartment
- Holidays: Paid holidays on the Chinese holiday schedule
- Office hours per week: 40 working hours (5 days) (no overtime)
- Teaching hours: A maximum of 90 hours monthly, including classes, demo classes and VIP sessions (over 90 hours of tutoring = RMB200 per hour)
- Airfare: Round trip economy class airfare from New York to Beijing (after one year of work)
- Visa: Visa application support
- Insurance: Basic medical and travel insurance coverage
- Bonus: Based on the performance appraisal (average 1 month salary)
