Job Description

The Position

To increase corporate gifts annually and develop high quality, cutting edge business programs that address the interests of the corporate community and attract corporate sponsors to China Institute.

Specific Responsibilities

  • • Manage all aspects of corporate membership.
  • • Recruit new corporate members, and reach out regularly to potential corporate members.
  • • Develop, plan, execute and manage all of the Institute’s corporate programs, including the annual Executive Summit and the periodic China Impact Speaker Series.
  • • Work with the President, the Director of Development and the Board to reach potential speakers and attendees at corporate programs; utilize Board members to develop ideas for future corporate events.
  • • Develop long term strategies for continued and increased support.
  • • Keep up to date with business developments in and relating to China.
  • • Maintain accurate records and visit reports in Raiser’s Edge.
  • • Participate in China Institute related development activities.

 

Qualifications

  • • Proven five-eight year corporate/business relations track record and comfort level in developing business funding relationships.
  • • Excellent organizational skills in creating and managing all aspects of a corporate membership program.
  • • Excellent management skills in planning and executing multiple and complex public programs.
  • • Ability to make long-range strategic plans for corporate programs and growth of corporate membership.
  • • Strong interpersonal and communication skills required to work with members of the Board of Trustees and corporate leaders in the US and China.
  • • Excellent writing and oral communications skills.
  • • Knowledge of US and China business climate.
  • • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Raiser’s Edge or equivalent software, Excel, database spreadsheets and Internet research.
  • • Fluency with Mandarin a plus.
  • • Ability to work with social media and content providing systems a plus.
  • •Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred.
