Job Description
Under direction of the UC Davis China Center for Energy and Transportation (C-CET) Executive Director, manage the Center’s “Sustainable Urban and Land-Use, Green Freight, and Land Restoration.” programs. Lead the development, design, implementation and oversight of activities related to these programs, and identify potential sources of extramural funding, cultivating strategic relationships within China and the United States.
Assist in the management of Center day-to-day activities, including the administration of financial and human resources, oversight on Center projects, and organization of conferences, workshops and visits by sponsors and outside experts. Physical Demands: Work Environment: – Work occasional flexible schedule to meet operational needs. – Extended international travel stays may be necessary. – UC Davis is a smoke and tobacco free campus. Smoking, the use of smokeless tobacco products, and the use of unregulated nicotine products (e-cigarettes) is strictly prohibited on any UC Davis owned or leased property, indoors and outdoors, including parking lots and residential space. Background Check Required: This position is a critical position and subject to a background check. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of background investigation including criminal history and identity checks. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: – Experience developing and managing international programs and projects, mainly in Asia. – Experience working with international foundations and charitable organizations (China preferred). – Knowledge of China’s urban, energy and transportation status. – Experience designing and executing sponsor cultivation and stewardship strategies. – Skills to communicate effectively with senior executive-level representatives of outside funding and support agencies. – Writing, editing and proofreading skills to write and prepare a variety of correspondence, reports, proposals and informational documents. – Bilingual fluency in English and Chinese. Preferred Qualifications: – Experience in International urban and transportation or related development field. – Experience with database development and maintenance. – Interpersonal and communication skills to clearly and effectively interact with individuals of diversified international backgrounds and perspectives to manage, research, secure, and/or provide information to clarify situations, resolve problems and make public presentations. |
