Global Environmental Institute (GEI) Overseas Investment, Trade and Environment Program is hiring for one full-time Program Officer to be primarily responsible for the research, design, implementation and management, with a specific focus on project development, policy research and pilot projects. The Program Officer will report to the Program Manager.

Overview

Job Description

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

– Monitoring the application, development, research, implementation of the Overseas Investment, Trade and the Environment program projects;

– Conducting policy and academic research within the program frame; this task can extend to writing reports, papers and policy recommendations;

– Developing project implementation plans and carrying out field studies of the countries which receive Chinese companies’ investment;

– Ensuring effective project implementation, as well as monitoring and evaluating the projects;

– Developing and maintaining relationships with donors, government representatives, research institutes, NGOs, and local communities;

– Assisting the team in developing and implementing fundraising and work plans;

– Working with the team to promote the program; using social media and traditional media; contributing to program reports, papers, stories, videos, etc.

– Assisting the program manager to complete all outstanding and necessary tasks.

Qualifications:

– A Masters degree, or above, in environmental policy or, international development is required; Candidate with economic and financial background is preferred;

– At least 1 year of work experience required;

– Experience in fundraising in/for NGOs is preferred;

– Experience overseas for study or work is preferred;

– Excellent communication skills with high level Chinese and English skills.

– He/She has work experience or knowledge in development and conservation;

– He/She is able to finish work with high quality, under pressure and in a timely manner;

– He/She is a great team member 

– He/She is willing to frequently travel for business and is able to work professionally in a tough environment.
