China UNICEF has a special relationship the government of China. Therefore, they travel to the poorest parts of China in order to develop results for children.

Overview

Job Description

This entails:

  • Being part of shaping and forming partnerships with various Government of China departments and agencies
  • Participating in effective knowledge management to strengthen programmes that help children in China
  • Analysing socio-political and economic trends in China and their implications for UNICEF’s programmes
  • Supporting the monitoring of programme funds and ensuring their optimal use for the benefit of children in China
  • Providingsupport and assistance to improve the quality of programmes
  • Building and reinforcing commitment and capacities of national and local partners

 To qualify, you will have… 

  • A university degree (preferably at Master’s level) in Social Sciences, International Relations, Public Administration or other relevant field
  • At least two years of professional working experience in international development or programme/project development at the national or international level
  • Experience working with the UN or other international development organizations is an asset
  • Knowledge of China’s social and economic policy context, Chinese government and non-government functions and policy development mechanisms
  • Experience of working in partnership with the Government of China
  • Experience of research management an advantage
  • Ability to coordinate and organize activities with stakeholders to good quality
  • Fluency in English and Mandarin
