Job Description
Program Associate, Sr (NGO), China Program, The Carter Center #43482BR
- Designs and implements projects related to U.S.-China relations, and provides support to all aspects of the China Program.
- Plans and monitors the program’s budget and grants.
- Drafts grant proposals and donor reports, and prepares briefing materials for senior executives.
- Develops and liaises with program partners in the U.S. and China under the guidance of the program director.
- Manages Program websites and coordinates the editing, writing, and updating of web content.
- Represents China Program at meetings and events.
- May supervise staff and interns.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the program director.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a field related to specified program areas and four years related program management experience, or equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in political science, international affairs, public policy, economics, communications, or a related field, and a minimum of three years of full-time experience in international affairs, development, or international business; must be bilingual in written and spoken English and Mandarin Chinese; superb writing skills in both languages a must; knowledge of Chinese and American politics, society, and foreign policies; knowledge of U.S.-China relations; knowledge of or experience in other developing countries (in Africa, the Middle East, Latin America, or Southeast Asia) a plus; experience with project design, monitoring and evaluation (DM&E); skills in web, graphic, and publication design preferred, as well as familiarity with social media and online communications tools.
