Director, Sourcing


Summary 
The Director, Sourcing will be responsible for leading the Company’s global sourcing activities. 

Responsibilities:
The primary responsibility is to ensure the establishment of a robust supply base that meets business needs, compliance to ASSA ABLOY supplier sustainability standard, and deliver sustaining supplier performance of good on-time delivery, competitive cost and reliable quality.

• Lead the sourcing team consists of sourcing professionals located in China and Scandinavia to achieve department objectives. 
• Develop and lead implementation of category strategy in key purchasing categories for both direct and indirect material.
• Plan and execute annual negotiations.
• Be the coach and mentor to sourcing team in utilizing fact based sourcing tools including category strategy, should cost, VAVE. 
• Take ownership of the supply base, manage supply base sustainability performance, and address non-compliance. 
• Rationalize supply base through supply base reduction which is consistent of category strategy.
• Develop sourcing roadmap in alignment with divisional business objectives.
• Be the owner of the following KPI:cost saving target attainment, saving generated from specific saving initiatives, supply base reduction and key suppliers performance
• Provide regular report to ASSA ABLOY group updating ASSA ABLOY hospitality sourcing KPI. 
• Participate AA global sourcing council quarterly meeting and other related activities, represent AAH in AA global sourcing council. Provide input and ensure group strategy cascade down to AAH. 
• Support other supply chain initiatives related to overall improvement such as seamless flow integrations for supply, VMI, Kanban etc.
• Participate Product Council Meeting representing sourcing and provide functional input. 
• Drive continuous improvement culture within sourcing team with best practices and processes adopted and implemented
• Perform other sourcing management responsibilities as required.

Reporting
The position reports to the VP of Operations and will be an integral member of the Operations management team, will work closely with the China Operations Director, and with Product Management and Sales & Engineering groups, and will represent Hospitality in ASSA ABLOY global sourcing council.

The following roles will report to this Director position, either directly or indirectly: 
• Sourcing category managers
• Project Buyers
• VA/VE and Sourcing Projects Manager
Qualifications:
Proven track record in supply chain change management: directly improving cost, quality, cash flow, delivery and reliability. 
• Outstanding influencing skills.
• Good financial understanding.
• Understanding of contract development with supply related areas such as direct material, indirect material and CAPEX investment obligations.
• Ability to work in a matrix organization and simultaneously hold consultative and operational roles.
• Demonstrated leadership in developing and executing sourcing strategies.
• Thorough knowledge of global sourcing processes and practices, and the judgment to know what is appropriate for the company size and scope. 
• Background in implementing Kanban, VMI and/or lean supply chain processes. 
• Experience within an organization with world-class sourcing and purchasing practices, preferably in a global low cost country tiered structure manufacturing environment. 
• Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in business or engineering, with a minimum of 10 years sourcing, purchasing or other relevant experience, including several years of supervisory/management experience in global organization.
• Six Sigma and lean background a plus
• English language fluency required with fluency in Mandarin preferred 
Location: 
• The position will be based at Shanghai China
• International travel up to 40% is required.
