Shang Learning (www.shanglearning.com/?l=en-us) is  looking for Educators who care about critical thinking, collaboration, and other 21st Century skills. At Shang Learning we use English as the medium of instruction, but our focus is not on teaching English. Our main focus is on teaching soft skills. We aim to empower students with the skills they will need to succeed in the future, not just the skills to pass a test or to get into a good school.  We have a small, close-knit team, and flexible schedules. 

Public Speaking (10 sessions, either once per week for 10 weeks or twice per week for 5 weeks) and Essay Writing (20 sessions, either once per week for 20 weeks or twice per week for 10 weeks) are our most popular courses.

We have two locations in Beijing: one in the Lido area near Siyuanqiao (a 10 minute walk from Jiangtai subway station) and one near Houshayu Subway station in Shunyi. We are looking for both full-time (salaried) and part-time (hourly) educators to join us, focusing either on students ages 8-12 or ages 12-16. Some of the hourly educators work with us as little as 4 hours per week, and some work as much as 12 hours per week. The work involves teaching 2-hour sessions and spending 10-20 minutes after the session writing a report. Our lesson plans are all pre-made, so you don’t need to spend much time and energy prepping for a class. Full-time staff would also help us develop and create curriculum.

Job requirements:

• A professional appearance and demeanor. You have to be able to interact professionally with colleagues and with affluent clients.

• Native English speakers from the USA are preferred. Strong candidates from other English-speaking countries will be considered, and  outstanding candidates who are not native English speakers will be considered.

• Professional education experience is required, and candidates with experience teaching in the USA are preferred.

• 2 years of relevant full-time experience.

• Available to work during two of the following three time slots: Saturday afternoons, Sunday afternoons, weekday evenings.

• A degree in a related field.
