Summer Global Intern
The Carnegie–Tsinghua Center for Global Policy is seeking highly qualified and motivated students and recent graduates to apply for its Summer Global Intern Program. Selected interns will have the opportunity to learn about key foreign policy issues by interacting with and supporting senior Chinese and international scholars and experts and supporting the center’s activities and operations. Interns will become an integral part of Carnegie’s growing global network, which includes offices in Washington, D.C., Moscow, Beirut, Beijing, Brussels, and New Delhi.

Job Description
The Carnegie–Tsinghua Center for Global Policy is seeking highly qualified and motivated students and recent graduates to apply for its Summer Global Intern Program. Selected interns will have the opportunity to learn about key foreign policy issues by interacting with and supporting senior Chinese and international scholars and experts and supporting the center’s activities and operations. Interns will become an integral part of Carnegie’s growing global network, which includes offices in Washington, D.C., Moscow, Beirut, Beijing, Brussels, and New Delhi.
General requirements for all global interns:
- Be able to serve as an intern from June 12 to August 18, 2017
- Contribute 35 hours per week to the center
- Be a recent graduate of or currently enrolled in a college or university
- Have a background in international affairs or a desire to work in the field
Individuals should have a keen interest in international affairs, international trade, international security, or Chinese foreign policy. All interns should have working proficiency or higher in English; equivalent knowledge of Chinese is an asset, but not required.
Please note that the internship is unpaid. Housing, travel, living expenses, and medical insurance connected with the internship program must be borne by interns or by outside institutions and organizations. Interns are responsible for arranging their own travel to Beijing. Visa assistance will not be provided.
