Position Summary 

Internship position to cover many areas of the business with a focus on marketing. Key deliverable for the role will be to assess neighboring potential corporate clients and to engage and introduce Obentos brand. One of our key sources of revenue for CBD location is corporate lunch ordering and we need to engage with businesses in Liangmaqiao / Sanyuanqiao/ Sanlitun / Dongzhimen area to build this business for new restaurant location. Candidate will also be expected to assess potential new corporate customers in the CBD location.  

Role will also get involved in operations within the business, and be expected to learn: 

1. All areas of our customer facing front end operations 
2. Back end operations and systems supporting restaurant 
3. HR systems and training 

Role will also spend time directly with CEO and learn general issues facing a growing restaurant business in China and processes on growing from a small one restaurant location to multiple locations. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Highlight potential corporate customers in new restaurant location 
• Highlight potential corporate customers in old restaurant location 
• Engage with potential customers and introduce and sell the Obentos brand 
• Aide CEO in other marketing & PR activities to drive revenues for both restaurant locations 
• Learn all front of house operations and will be expected to work service on occasion 
• Highlight issues with front of house systems / service and develop solutions 
• Implement new systems / processes to improve running of front of house operations 
• Learn back end operations that support the business 
• Learn general HR systems and focus on building out standard operation procedures for training materials 

Core Competencies 

• Willing to cold call and approach businesses with no referral / introduction 
• Ability to sell a brand / product by engaging with potential customer over email / phone / face to face 
• Willingness to learn all areas of restaurant business and happy to get hand dirty 
• Creative in terms of marketing and PR and ability to come up with new ideas and campaigns to push brand 
• Proactive and ability to find things to do that will contribute to the business 

Qualifications and Experience 

• Chinese & English language (reading & writing) 
• Interest in food and beverage industry 
• Interest in marketing and PR 
• Savvy on social media platforms in China * Interest in doing business in China * Strong PC and Microsoft Office ability * Great communicator and ability to work with staff from across China * Team player, willing to work incredibly hard and to always go above and beyond in the work place
