Appointed by the Board of Directors, the Superintendent will lead and champion all aspects of Singapore
American School’s academic program, operations, financial health, external relations and philanthropic support.
As the school’s inspirational and strategic leader, the Superintendent will ensure that the School delivers on its
mission to drive excellence in K-12 education, now and into the future. The School’s next Superintendent will be
a gifted communicator who has the ability to connect with the entire SAS community, from the youngest learner
to the oldest alumnus. He/she will set high standards for all members of the community, champion its globally
minded vision, and lead the School on a path of continued success.

IDEAL EXPERIENCE

 Leadership in an academic organization characterized by excellence, complexity, and scale

 10+ years of executive leadership experience

 Experience recognizing, recruiting, developing and retaining talent

 Familiarity with living abroad with particular knowledge of and/or interest in Asia

 Advanced degree

 Come to understand the evolving future of the educational market in Singapore, and through collaborative

planning, revise the School’s strategy and propose new directions for the School;

 Articulate the means by which success will be measured and assess the School’s progress against set goals

over time.
