IPC – Internationale Projekt Consult GmbH is a leading provider of advisory services to financial institutions in transition economies and developing countries. We support interested banks in redesigning their infrastructure, business processes and commercial services in an environmentally sound manner. In this context, we develop instruments which are used to finance green investments of private and business clients in energy efficient (EE) machinery, equipment and buildings, renewable energy technologies (RE) or other environmentally friendly measures (EM).  

For the expansion of our consultancy services offered to Chinese commercial banks we are currently seeking to recruit a dedicated:

TECHNICAL ADVISER IN THE AREA OF SUSTAINABLE ENERGY FINANCING/ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT.

Your Tasks:

Permanently based in China you will support us in the implementation of green finance projects in the country by:

• Conducting market studies on energy sectors, investment potential, technological levels, suppliers and loca know-how
• Defining eligibility criteria and developing catalogues of standard green investment measures
• Conducting technical audits and feasibility studies for EE/RE/EM investments
• Developing and implementing concepts for the management of environmental and social risks of lending of financial institutions
• Implementing internal environmental management systems according to national and international standards in local banks
• Developing and providing training to bank staff

Your Qualifications:

• Degree in energy engineering, industrial engineering, environmental management or energy economics
• Three years of practical experience in the field of energy efficiency, renewable energy and/or environmental engineering
• Knowledge about the Chinese energy market, environmental regulation and green finance standards
• Interdisciplinary project experience as well as aptitude and enthusiasm for training staff members of our partner institutions
• Excellent command of English and Chinese
• High interpersonal skills coupled with the ability and determination to communicate in a sincere and open manner
• High level of geographic mobility and willingness to work and live in different project locations in China
