It’s been three years since Pingo Space was established. We’re making a big difference – creating the first app in China that connects expats with locals in education as well as the the Pingo International school
program that provides accessible and affordable online and offline classes to Chinese primary students.

We currently have over 800 students in our Pingo program and are growing fast. Pingo Space is seeking an experienced, highly qualified, passionate and dedicated Academic Director. This person will report to the Cofounder / Chief Academic Officer. The academic director will work with the rest of the education team to design and execute a curriculum for our primary programs and ensure quality control of the courses.

Job Description

What we need from you:
• Works with a team to design, develop, review, and refresh learning programs supporting in person classes
• Designs and develops curriculum content, training materials, training modules, teaching aids, and participates in all aspects of curriculum development programs for Pingo International school program including camp programs
• Creating teaching schedules for teachers and teaching assistants
• Understanding of the knowledge base of the international education guidelines
• Applies children’s learning principals to all instructional material
• Quality control of lesson execution and produce feed-back reports to teachers
• Design and delivery of the new hire training program for new teachers and teaching assistants
• Generating curriculum progress reports
• Ability to work independently and guide discussions to draw out learning requirements
• Ability to interact and communicate effectively with students, staff, and parent
Position Requirements
• Native or near native English speaker
• Should have at least 2 years’ experience in curriculum design in international education
• Should have at least 1 year of work experience in the children’s education sector in China
• Camp coordinating experience a plus
• Preference for TESOL certification or a relevant degree in teaching or education
• Flexibility and adaptability, able to work well in a fast moving environment and embraces the adventure
• Proven organizational skills which are reflected in effective prioritizing and multitasking
• A proactive attitude and the ability to act quickly and decisively
• A confident problem solver, create a solution orientated environment.

Work Location: Tower 1, Level 19, Xi Zhi Men Kai De Plaza Beijing

Salary and Benefits
• Company stock options after completion of 1 year contract
• Salary: 15-20k/month after tax
• 10 days paid vacation a year, 1 day extra each year
• Work with a start-up team
• Some teaching hours required (to cover if teachers are sick or if shortstaffed, but regular teaching is not required)
• Opportunity to travel to a different country each year with our school (so far we have gone on adventures to Bali, Indonesia and Australia)
• Bonus: If we complete the annual revenue and profit KPI you will receive one month salary bonus after the completion of your one year contract
• Company Equity: You will receive company equity after your one year completion of your contract according to your contributions, the amount will be discussed with your immediate supervisor, Sophie.
• Paid vacation: All Chinese public holidays and Christmas + 10 days paid leave
• We will provide visa support and guidance for a legal working Z visa.
• Flight reimbursement (1 return trip to your home country) after the completion of your one year contract.
