Basketball Operations Supervisor | NBA China
This position will be responsible for providing administrative support to the Director of Basketball Operations, as well as assisting with Basketball Operations initiatives throughout China including on the court basketball instruction.

Job Description
Major Responsibilities:
- Assist in special projects and analysis including:
- Create and update China basketball landscape documents
- Draft weekly department progress reports to be submitted to New York
- Create and update departmental monthly plan/calendar
- Draft meeting minutes and recaps of all meetings, business travel, or events attended
- Serve as translator when necessary
- Support department in creating/updating basketball development strategy
- Assist with special events and activities; duties include:
- Assist in the execution of basketball clinics conducted by Basketball Operations in China
- Support relevant departments to develop rundown plan for various events
- Provide on-site support for NBA coaches/scouts when in China
- Assist in execution of NBA basketball cooperation projects with CBA and Ministry of Education
- Evaluate youth basketball players and coaches who participate in NBA programs
- Relations and Market Observations:
- Cultivate and maintain relations within the basketball community in China including clubs, officials, referees, and other key stakeholders.
- Player and coach observation and information gathering at all levels
- Monitor and report on industry news pertinent to NBA’s business in China
- Serve as an expert on basketball in China; including knowledge of basketball history, overall basketball structure, and trends in basketball industry
Required Experience & Knowledge:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Detail oriented and well-organized
- Proven professionalism with confidential information
- Ability to work well within a team environment
- Demonstrated computer proficiency (Microsoft Office, Lotus Notes, Outlook)
- Fluency in both English and Mandarin Chinese
Experience Needed:
- Passion for the game of basketball is essential
- Some working knowledge of basketball in China
- Experience working or living in China
- Varsity high school level basketball playing or coaching experience (preferably in the US)
- Worked elite and non-elite basketball camps as on court counselor/coach
- Must be able to work flexible hours (including weekends if necessary)
Educational Background Needed:
- Bachelor degree or above.
