Leading City of Industry, California Asian Food Importer and Distributor is seeking a Logistic and Customer Service Coordinator who has experience in the food industry and who is bilingual in English and Chinese. 

Gemini Food Corporation is a very well established Asian food import and distribution company located in City of Industry, California. Together with our sister company located in the San Francisco Bay Area, we have a sales area that covers the USA.  We are a leading company in the Asian food import industry with healthy sales and strong management.  We are looking for a Logistic and Customer Service Coordinator with intermediate (2-4 years) experience in the Asian food business and an ability to speak Chinese (either Mandarin or Cantonese).

Gemini services mainstream accounts such as Costco and Kroger. Our customer base also includes major Asian supermarket chains like S. F. Supermarkets and H-Mart across the U.S.  Therefore, an ability to speak English as well as Chinese is essential for this position.

Position characteristics: The successful candidate will exemplify the core values of Gemini Food which include honesty, integrity, respect, diversity and the safety of others.  The role includes coordinating with trucking carriers for the day-to-day outbound shipments under the leadership of the Operations Manager. It also requires providing quality customer service to ensure orders are entered and fulfilled effectively, efficiently, and with the highest level of professionalism.  Understanding business implications of decisions and knowledge of outbound logistics and related issues is essential. Candidates must have very good interpersonal skills, as well as excellent communications abilities. He or she has to be able to work independently in a dynamic environment.

Job description includes (but not limited to):

  • Provide efficient order flow and production information to and from Sales and Warehouse 
  • Analyze and manage transportation costs and focus on reducing total cost 
  • Manage 3rd party logistic usage and approve any accessorial charges 
  • Book outbound truckloads according to shipping and delivery requirements as requested by Sales and/or customers
  • Schedule and keep track of appointments for trucks to pick up shipments to out-of-state customers
  • Provide documentation and participate in resolving claims from shipping issues
  • Receive, process and follow up customer orders
  • Interface effectively with Sales and customers to ensure on-time order delivery
  • Provide accurate and timely feedback to customers on inquiries pertaining to orders
  • Work closely with Warehouse to meet order delivery dates required by Sales and/or customers
  • Address and resolve customer concerns regarding orders
  • Maintain positive working relationships with customers, carriers, and all Gemini Food Corp. employees
  • Answer incoming phone calls in a timely fashion and professional manner
  • Perform other duties assigned

Qualifications:

  • BA in Business or a related field with at least 2-4 years experience in logistics and customer service is preferred
  • An ability to speak Chinese as well as English fluently is required
  • Effective communication (verbal and written), interpersonal and organizational skills along with decision-making and problem-solving abilities
  • Exceptional phone skills/customer service skills/people skills
  • Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast paced work environment
  • Demonstrate effective time management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word
  • The successful candidate should be resourceful, independent, flexible, and able to problem-solve creatively.

Salary 
Compensation is based on experience.
