The Columbia Global Centers | East Asia (CGC|EA) office is now recruiting a Senior Program Manager.

 

 

1. Qualifications for applicants

 

  • Ÿ   Master’s degree, preferably from a US university
  • Ÿ   Experiences working overseas preferred,  especially at Columbia University
  • Ÿ   Familiarity with U.S and China higher education system
  • Ÿ   Previous work as research manager or program manager supervising other program and operations staff
  • Ÿ   Ability to write well in English
  • Ÿ   Strong sense of maturity and integrity
  • Ÿ   Fluent in both Chinese and English

 

 

2. Responsibilities

 

  • Ÿ   Assist the Director and various Columbia University Units to develop partnerships, programs and projects in East Asia with local universities, think tanks, government organizations, and non-governmental organizations.
  • Ÿ   Develop the Center’s programs and projects under the leadership of the Director
  • Ÿ   Initiate, coordinate, and supervise Center’s events and conferences
  • Ÿ   Be responsible for center’s IT system maintenance and development
  • Ÿ   Assist the Director with various programmatic tasks including management of projects and programs with other global centers
  • Ÿ   Liaise with alumni office in New York and in the Greater China region on alumni outreach and engagement
  • Ÿ   Assist the Director to establish and manage relationships with influential alumni, friends of Columbia University, parents, and Advisory Board members
  • Ÿ   Work as the admissions contact with appropriate offices on campus
  • Ÿ   Assist in government relations and outreach
