Role Responsibilities:

The Student Communications Coordinator will be responsible for the creation and implementation of various forms of communications, events and activities directly targeting our 400+ sponsored students including alumni. Includes day-to-day management of our portfolio of sponsored students as well as managing fundraising events in partnership with the Administration Team. You will also work closely on ad hoc projects with colleagues in marketing and business development, learning useful skills for future career progression.

 

Duties:

  • You’ll lead general office management related to incoming enquiries via email, post, telephone, QQ and WeChat.
  • Manage team invoicing, cashflow and office expenses.
  • You’ll oversee our portfolio of student and sponsor information and manage student communications.
  • Liaise with external stakeholders including Shanghai Charity Foundation (SCF) and sponsoring corporations, associations and individuals.
  • Maintain close working relationships with local Shanghai districts and SCF to ensure seamless program implementation and maintenance.
  • You’ll assist in building new systems that make our operations more efficient and help position our program to achieve maximum impact today and in the future.
  • Support our Executive Director, Marketing Specialist and Student Program Director as well as other teams for ad hoc projects as required, with opportunities to learn new skills in these areas.
  • In partnership with other colleagues in the Administration Team, you’ll coordinate key events for student engagement as well as new sponsor outreach.
  • You’ll manage SHSR branded products and merchandise inventory.
  • Provide translation Chinese : English (written and oral) where required.
  • You’ll occasionally have the chance to join relevant social or community events and visit the field to support work on the ground.

 

Skills and Qualifications:

This role is a great opportunity for an experienced administrator looking for a part-time role. You’ll receive on-the-job training from senior managers with a wide range of professional backgrounds and there are plenty of opportunities for future career progression in the NGO sphere. We are looking for a motivated, hard-working person who is a native Chinese speaker (preferred) with proficiency in English written and verbal communication. All applicants must have a college degree OR at least two years’ administration experience. Microsoft Office skills would be an advantage. If this sounds like you, come join us!
