The Chinese After School Program at a Richmond District elementary school was founded and established by parents in 1999. The program provides the school community grades K-5 with an opportunity to learn the Chinese language (Mandarin and Cantonese) and the culture. 

The Chinese After School Program is currently seeking a part-time (3:00 pm – 6:00 pm) Teacher’s Assistant who loves education and enjoys working with children to join our innovative team with the following qualifications:

• Ability to speak, write and teach in the Chinese Language (Mandarin and/or Cantonese)
• Under supervision of the Chinese After School Teachers, develop art lesson plans.
• Lead organized learning activities for students to develop and strengthen their knowledge of the Chinese culture. 
• Participate in and evaluate the effectiveness of activities and events. 
• Instruct students on the safe and proper use of supplies and equipment.
• Instruct students and follow discipline techniques and classroom management.
• Participate in cleaning and maintaining the facilities and equipment.
• Interact professionally and appropriately with parents, teachers and school staff.
• Reliable, responsible, energetic and flexible.
• Position commitment for one year.
